What Is Not Included In The Program?
Remember that the Travel Scout Program is an exchange, not a job, so you’ll be helping a host in exchange for accommodation and other benefits! If an assignment offers payment, the details of such will be included in the assignment details.
Tickets To Assignment Start Point
It’s solely the travel scout’s responsibility to arrive at and depart from their destination. So plan far enough ahead to get good discounts etc.

Do I need professional experience or qualifications?
For content creators: No professional experience or formal training is required. We're looking for creators with a strong sense of storytelling, cultural curiosity, and a commitment to quality. Whether you're just starting out or already established, there’s space for you here.
For businesses: You don’t need a marketing team or prior experience working with creators. Our team supports you in setting up your campaign, writing a clear brief, and selecting the right Scout for your needs.
Do I get paid?
For creators: There is no cash payment. Instead, you receive free accommodation and curated experiences in exchange for creating content, making this a meaningful value swap for travel and portfolio growth.
For businesses: You don’t pay creators directly. Your subscription covers campaign access and creator matchmaking. Optional extras, such as stipends or giveaways, are at your discretion and can be arranged directly.
Do I need a large social media following?
For content creators: No minimum follower count is required. We prioritize storytelling, originality, and consistency over vanity metrics. Micro-creators with niche audiences are welcome and often thrive in this program.
For businesses: We help you match with creators who meet your targeting needs—whether that’s broad reach, niche audiences, or creators with a specific aesthetic. You can specify this in your campaign brief.
What kind of assignments are available?

Who owns the content created?
Content creators retain the rights to their work, but by participating in the program, you grant the business and Scout Africa a license to use the content for promotional purposes.
Businesses receive royalty-free usage rights to the content delivered as part of their campaigns. Ownership remains with the creator unless otherwise negotiated, ensuring transparency and creative credit.
